TEXT Messaging SCAM

The Calaveras Superior Court has been made aware of an ongoing scam that uses fake text messages appearing to be sent by the Court or DMV that seek payment for unpaid traffic citations.

The Court and DMV does not and will not contact the public through text messages to make payments for traffic citations.

The public is cautioned not to provide financial or personal information If contacted via text or a phone call. The Court does not seek this information through texts or phone calls.

If you are unsure about having paid a traffic citation, please visit the Court’s website at Home | Superior Court of California | County of Calaveras and click on “Pay Fines.” From there, you will be directed to a site from which you may search and enter your corresponding information to see if there are any outstanding balances.

Pursuant to California Rule of Court 10.620(f), Calaveras Superior Court provides this notice of receipt of the preliminary annual trial court allocation for 2024–2025 from the Judicial Council following the enactment of the 2024 Budget. In addition, to comply with the above-mentioned Rule of Court, Calaveras Superior Court is posting the Judicial Branch Budget Committee and Trial Court Budget Advisory Committee reports to the council. These reports provide helpful detail regarding the allocations and can be viewed by following the links below on the California Courts website.

The final reduction for fund balances above the 3 percent cap, based on courts’ final FY 2024–25 year-end fund balance figures, will occur following Judicial Council approval at its December 2025 business meeting.

Calaveras County Superior Court Seeks Public Comment on Proposed Baseline Budget for Fiscal Year 2025-2026

Pursuant to Government Code section 68511.7, the Superior Court of California, County of Calaveras, is providing a summary of its proposed baseline budget for Fiscal Year 2025–2026 for public review and comment. The Court’s fiscal year runs from July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.
 
Written comments on the proposed baseline budget will be accepted until the close of business on Friday, October 3, 2025. All comments received by the deadline will be reviewed and considered. Please note that the Court does not anticipate providing formal responses to individual comments.
